Hi and welcome to the forum.

What instrument would you most like to learn? That I think would be a good first step - it takes time and patience to learn any instrument, so it should be one that you would really enjoy.

There are other members of the forum with far more knowledge and experience than I have and I'm sure someone will be happy to help you. Stay tuned.

I started with clarinet and it was pretty fun. A lot of people pick clarinet as their 1st instrument. It's easy and fun and once you get good, the harder pieces are really fun to play.

Welcome the forum - I really think that the violin is one instrument that you should find a good teacher.

From what I understand it's not something that you can learn on your own. We have some great teachers and muscians who check in every now and then - good luck and enjoy the journey.

Thanks suzyq I am definitely going to have one on one instruction, I have already checked into a conservatory here in my hometown. I was just wanting some on line extra assistance since I'm a beginner and i didn't want to show up my first day of instruction not knowing anything. Thanks for the advice and encouragement
